Wayne’s passion for vehicles and all things mechanical began at an early age being raised by a 30-year mechanic for Alameda County Transit. Being raised in a small town, Wayne pursued his professional career moving to Santa Rosa, CA to attend the Santa Rosa Junior College Automotive Program after graduating Mendocino High School in 1987.
It wasn’t long before Wayne’s instructor secured him a job at an independent frame and alignment shop. Over the next two years he learned all aspects of frame and suspension repair including alignments, the old way (without a machine). After two years Wayne secured a journeyman technician position at Hansel Ford Lincoln Mercury in 1991.
Over the next ten years Wayne performed suspension and alignment diagnosis and repair, gas and diesel engine diagnosis and repair, manual transmission and drivetrain diagnosis and repair along with electrical systems. During this time Wayne was recognized as a leader and was promoted to team leader mentoring new hires and assisting in repairs.
In 2001, Wayne was promoted to Shop Foreman where he managed a shop of 35 technicians and worked with Service Advisors and customers to make sure quality was always top priority fixing it right the first time. It was also during this time that he worked directly with the manufacturer, not only through difficult repairs but working through litigation including Lemon Law case analysis and depositions.
Wayne was again recognized for his achievements in 2012 when he was promoted to Service Manager of Hansel Ford Lincoln and Hansel Mazda. Over the next ten years he gained a vast knowledge in managing people, working with customers through difficult repairs. Wayne also handled 100+ California Lemon Law Cases during his time as Service manager, performing root cause analysis, history/days out of service analysis and deposition testimony in 15+ cases including 1 trial testimony.
Wayne enjoys camping, boating, riding dirt bikes and time with his family.
